Lockdown Walks: Edinburgh Trams 259

259-rc

In this photo we see 259 having just turned the corner from South Saint Andrew Street onto Princes Street and is passing the junction (on the right) with Waverley Bridge. The bridge is currently closed off under the Spaces for People arrangements and in the long-term the Council have aspirations for this to be a permanent closure as part of the City Centre Transformation Plan. The tram is just passing where a new stop may be constructed in the future to provide better access to Waverley Railway Station and could also be served by the proposed Northwest/Southeast tram service from Granton to the BioQuarter.
