Does anyone know the journey time from Didsbury to St Peters Square? Some steam hauled trains did it from Didsbury to Manchester Central in 11 minutes admittedly with no stop at Chorlton cum Hardy (Withington and West Didsbury closed in 63). How wonderful to see all those folks clambering aboard at ten to six in the morning. Let’s hope all the prophecies of doom for this line are unfounded and that the lady whose house backs on to the alignment has stopped complaining to the papers (and moved before gaining the massive premium anyone with a property near the alignment will now enjoy!)
