 As a companion to Gallery 869 this photo shows Sheffield 522 on 30th July 1960 - just a few months before the Corporation Tramway would close. Taken on Abbeydale Road South, Beauchief the Roberts Car is heading a service to Vulcan Road and is just pausing at a tramstop here on its journey. Whilst two of this class of tram survived in preservation, 522 was not so lucky being scrapped after the closure of the tramway later in the same year. Photograph by Tony Sullivan |
