Gallery 869: Picture in Time Special - Sheffield Corporation Tramways 1958 & 1960

We have an extra special treat for you in this collection - well, we think it is anyway! - as we head back around 60 years ago to take a look Sheffield Corporation Tramways at the end of its life with images taken in both 1958 and 1960. Taken in and around Sheffield City Centre these fascinating images show the traditional trams going about their daily business just at a time when the system was heading into its final days. The modern Roberts Cars feature extensively but earlier examples of the Standard tram are also seen in operation with all trams shown now no longer with us. Photographer: Tony Sullivan
