Gallery 963: Around the World in Trams Special - Western Railway Museum, Rio Vista

The trolley of Sacramento Northern 62 is adjusted in this image. Built in 1920 by the American Car Company, St Louis for the San Diego Electric Railway it started off life numbered 301. It didn't stay long there with San Diego apparently unhappy with the car so it was sold in 1923 to Sacramento Northern. Withdrawn in 1947 it was acuired by the Bay Area Electric Railroad Assocation straight away and then arrived at the museum in August 1964. It is the only Birney car to have ever operated in San Francisco.
