Gallery 902: Around the World in Trams Special - San Francisco Trolleys 1974

From the front of car 1006 the rear of car 1147 is seen as it turns into the East Bay Terminal loop. At the time of this excursion this was the downtown terminal of the San Francisco trolley lines. In the past the East Bay Terminal had serviced the trains of the Sacramento Northern Railway, the Interurban Electric Railway, and the Key System interurbans all of which reached this location via trackage on the San Francisco – Oakland Bay Bridge. The last electric train crossed the bridge on April 20th 1958. Now only motorbuses operated by AC Transit use the upper level.
