Gallery 902: Around the World in Trams Special - San Francisco Trolleys 1974

The next line we take a trip along is the N-Judah line which was built to provide a service to residents of the Sunset District living just south of the Golden Gate Park with a third tunnel built under Buena Vista Ridge. With construction starting in 1926 this tunnel opened on 17th August 1927 and is 4,232 feet long. This is the western entrance of the Duboce or Sunset Tunnel in 1974, seen from 1006.
