Gallery 883: Around the World in Trams Special - Southern California Railway Museum 1981-2002

We start off in April 1981 with a look into the Car Barn for Los Angeles Railway cars, on the left is Kyoto 19 (Japan), Los Angeles Railway self propelled crane car 9225 built in 1912 (in Los Angeles Transit Lines livery) and an unidentified car, possibly no. 1201 in Los Angeles Railway livery. The Los Angeles Railway was built to 3'6" gauge and became the Los Angeles Transit Lines in 1945 when it was sold to National City Lines. In 1958 it was then incorporated into the publicly owned Los Angeles Metropolitan Transit Authority with five tram routes and two trolleybus routes surviving until 1963.
