Gallery 866: Around the World in Trams Special - San Francisco Cable Cars 1974 & 1998


28 moves onto the turntable at Bay Street on 19th March 1974. This is about three blocks away from Fisherman's Wharf and when the line originally opened in 1888, Bay Street was the waterfront. This was the first cable car to carry the number 28 but if you visit today and see a 28 it won't be this one as it was withdrawn in January 2002 and then traded with the Shore Line Trolley Museum in 2018 for two trolleys for the F line.
