Gallery 745: Tyne and Wear Metro Northern routes - June 2018

Wansbeck Road station, looking towards South Gosforth. This is another station on the former Ponteland branch that did not exist prior to the original closure of the line to passengers in 1929. It was opened on 10th May 1981 when the branch reawakened from the dead when it was reopened for Metro services from South Gosforth as far as the then new station at Bank Foot.
