Gallery 714: Trams Around the World - The Electric City Trolley Museum, Scranton

Built as Reading Transit and Light Company 506 in 1920 by Osgood Bradley this car is a single truck ‘Birney’ style four wheel one man trolley car and is mounted on an Osgood Bradley 36-96 truck. Withdrawn in 1947 its body was acquired by a private owner (who also acquired the body of Reading Transit and Light Company 102). Both cars were first both acquired by the Buckingham Valley Trolley Association and were moved to Buckingham Valley prior to being relocated to Scranton circa 1999. The body of 506 has been cosmetically restored and mounted on a re-creation of an Osgood Bradley truck; it is displayed in the museum building. The restoration has included the removal of certain body panels so that the ‘skeleton’ of a trolley car can be viewed by visitors to the museum.
