Gallery 714: Trams Around the World - The Electric City Trolley Museum, Scranton

This is a single ended double truck Presidential Commission Conference (“PCC”) car built as Philadelphia Transportation Company 2054 in 1940. This car was built as part of the car order that included 2031 to 2080 and 2501 to 2580. 2054 was acquired by the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (“SEPTA”) as of September 30 1968 with no change in car number. During 1978 this car was repainted in the original silver paint scheme of the Philadelphia Transportation Company. This car was retired and sold to the Electric City Trolley Museum during 2005 and has been stored in the restoration shop near PNC field since then. As it is a single end car and the Electric City Trolley Museum’s has no turning facilities this car may not be returned to serviceable condition.
