Gallery 710: Trams Around the World - The Rockhill Trolley Museum October 2017

When tramways closed across the UK a large number of tram bodies were sold on for further use and that has also been the case in the US. One such example is Valley Railways 12, dating from 1895. Withdrawn from service as long ago as 1923 the body was sold for $25 and was used as a residence in Plainfield, Pennsylvania. It was discovered in 1985 and Rockhill acquired it in 1990. It remains a long term restoration project with the museum searching for a set of the correct trucks along with appropriate electrical gear and controllers.
