Gallery 585: Blackpool Tramway Winter Gold - 30th & 31st January 2016

On Saturday 30th & Sunday 31st January 2016, Blackpool Heritage Tram Tours staged their first ever 'Winter Gold' event with a fairly intensive service of traditional trams, some of which were carrying fare-paying passengers in winter for the first time ever, others for the first time in many years. A total of ten different trams saw use across the weekend with six cars scheduled to operate on each day, although due to a number of minor breakdown incidents there were some changeovers on both days. Despite miserable weather conditions, the weekend was generally viewed as a great success and further winter events are planned to take place.
