Gallery 549: Snaefell Mountain Railway - July 2015

Number 1 is seen at Bungalow, the Swiss chalet which gave its name to the only intermediate stop has long gone. Here we see the driver setting the road lights. On the MER such lights at crossings are automatic and go to red for traffic to stop but here they are only manual warning lights set to amber so it can be a race across the road for the trams as this is part of the TT circuit it is about to cross. The crew turn off the warning lights when they get to the other side of this busy road.
