Gallery 531: Blackpool Tramway - May Day Bank Holiday Weekend 2015

The May Day Bank Holiday weekend saw the year's second period of enhanced heritage tram operation in Blackpool, with a green service (four trams) operating on Saturday 2nd May, followed by the gold service (six trams) on both Sunday 3rd and Monday 4th May. Despite mixed weather conditions, a good variety of trams ran across the weekend but the star attraction was undoubtedly Balloon 715, which was making its debut on heritage tours following a repaint in the 1990s style green and cream livery. We make no apologies for this tram featuring heavily in this gallery, but a selection of shots from all three days are included, with particular emphasis on the Monday - which was actually sunny!

Photographs in this collection were taken by Paul Derrick & Andrew Waddington.
