Gallery 489: Blackpool 711's birthday event - Crich Tramway Village 12th October 2014

On Sunday 12th October 2014, a special Blackpool tram event took place at Crich Tramway Village to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Balloon car 711's entry into passenger service, which had occurred a few days earlier. This also provided the perfect excuse to enjoy all ten of the operational Blackpool trams on site at this time, including Box 40 for the last time before it returned to Blackpool to continue its long-running loan period, and Rack 2 for the last time for it is withdrawn for an overhaul. Although mainly billed as a running day, there were also several excellent line-ups arranged during the day, ensuring that there would be plenty to interest all fans of Blackpool's varied tram fleet, and all of these feature in this collection of images.

Photographs in this collection were taken by Andrew Waddington.
