Gallery 476: Manx Heritage Transport Festival - 30th July-3rd August 2014

The annual Manx Heritage Transport Festival took place between Wednesday 30th July and Sunday 3rd August and the Manx Electric Railway again played a pivotal role. This gallery of photos starts the day before the event at Derby Castle and the carries on through the remainder of the event including images of the Manx Electric Railway, Snaefell Mountain Railway and the Douglas Horse Tramway over the following few days. Highlights of the event included intensive services on the MER, rare combinations and tours of Derby Castle sheds which gave rare chances to photograph some long withdrawn cars - and all of those are included in this collection. Also included are photos of when things didn't quite go according to plan including a derailment on the Snaefell Mountain Railway and failures on the Manx Electric Railway.

All Photographs in this collection were taken by Ken Walker
