Gallery 434: The Big Shunt at Crich

On Saturday 1st February 2014, a major shunting operation took place at the Crich Tramway Village, which saw a total of ten non-operational tramcars moved between the depots and the Exhibition Hall. In a very welcome move, the museum was opened for one day only to enable visitors to watch the various trams being shunted, and capture some very unusual scenes on camera. This gallery features all of the highlights from this memorable day, with the likes of Hill of Howth 10, Edinburgh 35, Leicester 76 and Newcastle 102 all seen in the open air.

Photographs in this collection were taken by David Beardsell & Andrew Waddington
