Around the World in Trams: Seashore Trolley Museum - October 2025

Leeds 526 is one of only three surviving Feltham trams in the world, and the only one which is still nominally not in its London condition. The tram was actually acquired by Seashore as a representative of a London tram and was acquired directly from Leeds Corporation at the cost of its scrap value. It moved to Seashore in 1960, and did suffer some damage on its voyage over, although this was later fixed. Originally built in 1931 for Metropolitan Electric Tramways it was originally numbered 341 and then renumbered 2085 upon the London Transport takeover in 1933. It moved north to Leeds in 1950 which is when it received the number 526. It has never operated at Seashore and will need a major restoration if it was to do so, but the height of the overhead remains an issue. Of note is that although no work has been completed on the tram since it left Leeds, Seashore refer to the tram as London Transport 2085. This image shows the exterior of the tram.
