Volk's Electric Railway - 3rd May 2025 |
![]() We quickly turn around and catch 10+6 as they continue their journey to Halfway and Black Rock. It is just passing a statue of Steve Ovett the Brighton-born athlete who won Gold in the 800 metres at the 1980 Moscow Olympic Games. He also set five world records in the 1500 metres and managed to win a staggering 45 1500 metre and mile races between 1977 and 1980. The statue was unveiled in 2012 as part of the celebrations of the Olympic Games taking place in London that summer. |
