St Peter's Square is without doubt the hub of the system with four platforms leading to two different ways into the city centre. Or at least it normally does! When we arrived on Friday 14th March the engineering works taking place meant any trams coming here had to go via 2CC rather than straight on into Mosley Street. That means you had the unusual sight of trams between Altrincham and Bury going via Exchange Square as it being demonstrated by 3024+3003 in this image. The pair are just departing from the outer platform heading to Bury.
