20 Photos of... Blackpool Tramway - Balloon Cars September 2006


Of course, it is not just the trams which have changed on the Blackpool Tramway since 2006 but also the infrastructure. This view was taken at Norbreck on 7th September 2006 and shows the station building which was demolished shortly before the upgraded tramway opened. Originally dating to 1899 the building saw various changes with it ending up like this from the late 1980s. Tram interest here is in the form of 703 which is going all the way north to Fleetwood. The tram had a nice coat of 1980s green and cream at the time of this image. Its now owned by the Fylde Transport Trust (although remains in its ficticious identity of Sunderland 101) and is at Rigby Road Depot.
