 And onto the opening of the line. Whilst relatively low-key (and when trams arrived at stops on the line after 12 they started to let passengers on) there were official goings on at Picardy Place. Unsurprising considering it has adverts promoting the extension 258 was the first tram to run in service from Picardy Place to Newhaven and was walked in by a piper with the scene captured by a gallery of photographers.
