Blackpool Tramway - Vintage Weekend February 2022 |
The first Blackpool Heritage Tram Tours special event of 2022 took place over the weekend of 19th and 20th February. The "Vintage Weekend" saw a variety of weather including the rare sight of snow in Blackpool plus rain, wind and even a bit of sun! As well as hop-on, hop-off timetabled services on the two days of the weekend there was the chance to go behind the scenes at Rigby Road Depot with more Tramtown Tours, bus tours and Evening Tours using the Western Train.
Over the course of the weekend Brush Cars 621 and 631, Centenary 648 (although this had to be returned to depot with a fault on the Saturday leading to it now appearing on day two planned), Balloons Cars 700 (another tram to head back to depot, this time on Sunday), 715, 717 and Rebuilt Balloons 707 and 718. In addition Balloon 711 was the "Shop Tram" and ran in service at the end of Saturday 19th February. In this collection we see most of these trams in action over the course of the "Vintage Weekend". * A fuller report of what happened can be found at http://www.britishtramsonline.co.uk/news/?p=43939. |
