Picture of the Week Photos archive 2020

We don't often feature trams from overseas on the front page but in this shot we include not just one but two - but they are in the UK so qualify for the honour. Taken at Crich on 12th June 2005, during the Tramathon event at the museum that year, we see two German trams - Halle 902 in the red and white livery and Berlin 3006 in the orange and white livery it carried at that time. 902 has only arrived in Derbyshire that year and 2005 was one of two years that it would operate in service before it was withdrawn partly as a result of its power hungry nature; it is now stored in Blackpool as a part of deal between Crich and Blackpool Transport. 3006 can now be seen in a white and black livery, has received its older number of 223 006-4 and is very much still in action at Crich as the all important Access Tram.
