The votes are in and it is the Douglas Bay Horse Tramway who are the big winners in the British Trams Online Tram of the Year 2016. Only nominated in two categories the tramway won in both as the Tramway of the Year and Event of the Year. The Event of the Year was awarded as a result of the 140th Anniversary celebrations in August and it is the centrepiece of that event - the Cavalcade - which features here this week. Toastrack 12 - tram number three in the Cavalcade - leads a queue of trams past the Villa Marina on 7th August. Depending on how a vote in Tynwald goes this area could become the terminus of the line in the future.
