Gallery 979: Nottingham Express Transit - September 2021

Here we see 208 climbing up onto the Wilford Toll Bridge with a service heading for Clifton South. The old toll building on the right is now a cafe whilst the statue on the left of the picture is of Sir Robert Juckes Clifton. Clifton was an MP from 1861 until he died in 1869 of typhoid. Amongst other achievements he funded the Wilford Toll Bridge and when he passed away 20,000 people attended his funeral.
