Gallery 971: Beamish Tramway - September 2021

After very nearly 18 months of no public tram services at Beamish limited operation restarted on Saturday 4th September 2021. Running from Foulbridge (by the tram depot) to the Town via the Entrance and Pockerley one tram is in service operating every 40 minutes. Originally operating at weekends only, weekday operation resumed from Monday 13th September. So far three double-deckers have run in service: Sunderland 16, Blackpool 31 and Sheffield 264 while Oporto 196 is still being used for driver training. In this collection we see images of all of those plus on 13th September there was a shunt at the depot which saw Newcastle 114 shunted over the pit on road 3 for a start to be made on its motor being refitted. Photographs were taken on Sunday 12th & Monday 13th September 2021.
