Gallery 966: Blackpool Tramway - August 2021

Blackpool is the location for this set of photos as we feature both the modern and the traditional trams operating on the tramway on two dates in mid-late August. We start on a wet 21st August with three heritage trams seen in action - Standard 147, Brush 631 and Balloon 717. Alongside those trams we see several of the Flexity2 trams operating the core service which at the time was every 15 minutes Starr Gate-Fleetwood Ferry with trams every 7/8 minutes heading from Starr Gate to Little Bispham. Before we end that day's photos we take a look at the overhead wiring in Talbot Square, some mini tram benches and signage along Talbot Road. After that we move forward to 24th August when the weather was finer with Balloon Cars 715 and 717 in heritage action. There are also more Flexity2 shots and a trip to Rigby Road Depot to see what was going on up there. Photographers: Bob Hodges & David Maxwell
Photographs were taken on Saturday 21st & Tuesday 24th August 2021.
