Gallery 961: Mini Manx Heritage Transport Festival - 30th July to 1st August 2021

In the second part of photos from the Isle of Man this collection concentrates on the Mini Manx Heritage Transport Festival which took place between Friday 30th July and Sunday 1st August. Following in the footsteps on the main festival which has bene taking place at the end of July for many years but hasn't happened since 2019 the Manx Electric Railway, Snaefell Mountain Railway and Douglas Bay Horse Tramway all took part and we feature all of them in this gallery.

Starting off on Friday 30th July there were celebrations to mark 125+1 years of the Snaefell Mountain Railway. With a special cake, speeches and photography specials in what was probably all too familiar weather conditions this was a milestone celebration which had been delayed by a year. Then on Sunday 1st August there was the chance to see behind the scenes at both the MER Derby Castle Sheds and the recently completed Douglas Bay Horse Tramway depot at Strathallan while on the MER there was an enhanced timetable in operation. This included the return to service of original motor 2 and trailer 42 following repaints into earlier livery styles.

* A report of output over these days can be read here.
