Gallery 923: Blackpool Tramway Trackworks February 2021

Starting from Sunday 14th February the Blackpool Tramway operated a revised service as a result of essential pre-planned trackworks taking place across the 11 mile line between Starr Gate and Fleetwood. For the first eight days (extended by a day from the original announcement) no trams ran at all before a service resumed from Monday 22nd February between Harrow Place and Starr Gate. This was originally due to run until Saturday 27th February but has since been extended a further seven days. In this collection we take a look at the trackworks underway, including some of the hired-in equipment being used such as a tamper which attempted to change tracks on crossovers but got stuck!
