Despite the fact that restrictions across the country meant it couldn't be the big event we have become used to in recent years, the weekend of 26th and 27th September did still give the opportunity to celebrate the 135th anniversary of the Blackpool Tramway with highlights including the return to service of the Frigate and a six tram Procession. This collection starts a couple of days earlier when we see Balloon 717 on Illumination Tours and we continue the build-up to the weekend with Balloon 700 on driver training, a further appearance of 717 as well as fellow Balloons 715 and 723 on a Private Hire. We then move to Saturday 26th September when four heritage trams were in service including the return of the Frigate with Bolton 66, Boat 600 and Balloon 715 also out. The evening saw the Frigate and 717 on Illumination Tours along with an unilluminated Trawler. Sunday 27th started off with a six tram Procession from Pleasure Beach including Standard 147, Boat 227, Balloon 701, Brush 621, Centenary 642 and Modified Balloon 707. These six trams then ran further pre-booked heritage tours during the rest of the day before we end this look at the heritage trams of the Blackpool Tramway with 717 and the Frigate on more Illumination Tours.
