Gallery 895: West Midlands Metro - 11th September 2020

It's been a long time since I've been out for a photography session on a UK tramway (275 days to be precise!) but on 11th September 2020 all that changed with a visit to Birmingham for a trip on the West Midlands Metro. With it being almost 500 days since I'd last been to the West Midlands Metro things had changed a lot with the most obvious of these being the opening of the overhead free extension to Library - the first phase of the Birmingham Westside extension which should run through to Hagley Road, Edgbaston at some point in 2021. Blue had also taken over as the colour of choice on the tram as last time I visted there was only one blue tram! In this collection we spend a large amount of time on the new(ish) extension but also head to the other extremity of the line in Wolverhampton with images between St George's and Proestfield.
