Our latest "Picture in Time Special" again heads to the Isle of Man as we move to 1995 when David Mee paid two separate visits for special events as part of the International Railway Festival and the Snaefell Mountain Railway Centenary. The International Railway Festival Enthusiasts Week took place between Saturday 29th April and Monday 8th May and the undoubted highlight of this period was the use of Steam Locomotive "Caledonia" on the Snaefell Mountain Railway running special passenger trips along the line with Manx Electric Railway trailer 57 providing the accomodation. In addition there were line-ups of MER trams at Derby Castle, a tram and two trailers and a static line-up of Horse Cars outside Strathallan Depot. The second big event of the year was the Steam Gala Week and Steam & Vintage Rally from Saturday 24th June to Saturday 1st July with the Snaefell Mountain Railway having a photography special including a works train whilst Caledonia again made an appearance on the mountain and on the MER there was a chance to see the two oldest and two newest motors in unison for photographic opportunities. All the above and many other sights besides are included in this collection of photos.
