The annual "September Spectacular" took place over the weekend of Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th September in Blackpool with rather mixed weather prevailing - sunny at times but incredibly wet at others! In this collection we take a look at the heritage and "B" fleet Balloons in service over the weekend starting a couple of days before the weekend on Thursday 26th September with Balloon 711 on LRT specials and a brief look at the evening illumination tours. We then continue the following day with an afternoon two tram heritage tour preceeding a Fylde Tramway Society tour which didn't quite go according to plan, it should have been Standard 143, ended up starting as Bolton 66 with the night ending on Centenary 648 via Flexity2 014! We then move on to the main event with two days of intensive heritage tram action along the entire length of the tramway. With the weather making conditions difficult we take a look at all trams which ran in service over the two days at varying locations plus the static line-ups down at the depot (different line-ups each day) and also many photos featuring Standard 143 on display at North Pier/Tower with the tram not fit for service having failed on its launch a few days earlier. The weekend may not have gone according to plan with all three trams due to return to service not able to do so but it was still a busy two days with this collection trying to catch the flavour. The gallery is split into two with part one looking at the Promenade tramway and the trams in action whilst in the second half we see trams in and around the depots.
