Each July the eyes of transport enthusiasts are turned towards the Isle of Man with the annual Manx Heritage Transport Festival taking place over a five day period at the end of the month and this is usually preceeded by private hires from the Isle of Man 50 Group - and 2019 was no different! In this collection we head across to the Isle of Man on Thursday 18th July and mainly concentrate on the Manx Electric Railway but also take a brief look at some other transport sights including not only the curtailed Douglas Bay Horse Tramway but also the Isle of Man Steam Railway. Highlights of this period on the Manx Electric Railway included the return to service of three trailers - 37, 49 and 54, the latter of which had last run in 1971. There was also the "return" of long-lost motors whilst there was the spectacle of the four Tunnel Cars posed for photography on a special evening trip. All this and much more features in this gallery. If you want to read more about this period please read this article from David Mee.
