One of the premier general transport events in the UK in recent years has been the Great North Steam Fair at Beamish and the 2019 edition was no different! For the first time since 2016 the event was graced by the presence of loanee trams with Blackpool & Fleetwood 40 from Crich (via Blackpool) and Manchester 765 from Heaton Park both featuring in service at the event. This collection of photos starts on Friday 12th April where we see are a four tram service formed of the aforementioned 40 and 765 along with resident trams Blackpool 31 - complete with Circular Tour boards - and Newcastle 114. It's then on to a very busy Saturday 13th April where a five tram service was in operation with the same four as the previous day joined by Sunderland 16. We start off seeing the trams enter service at Fouldbridge Depot before we catch the five around and about the museum tramway - with all trams running on a clockwise circuit. We don't ignore those trams not in service either with a few views around the depot. Of course, the event isn't just about the trams so we also feature a few of the image vintage vehicles around the museum - including no fewer than five operating railways and plenty of action on the roads with buses and other vehicles in operation. So sit back and take a look at the sights of the Great North Steam Fair!
