Gallery 770: Birkenhead 20 tours Blackpool - 7th November 2018

As part of our sponsorship deal supporting the loan of Birkenhead 20 to Blackpool, British Trams Online ran a special tour on Wednesday 7th November 2018. As 20 was only allowed to operate between Pleasure Beach and Bispham, we ran a couple of journeys with this visiting tram - its last outing before returning home to Birkenhead - before swapping to the illuminated Trawler 737 for a rare full system tour. Despite being organised at short notice for a weekday outside the main season, the tour was a huge success and raised over £400 for the Fylde Tramway Society's 'Princess Alice' 706 restoration appeal, thanks to some very generous donations in addition to monies raised in fares. Our grateful thanks go to everybody who supported this tour and made a day to remember, with some unusual moves by two contrasting trams and lots of interesting photo opportunities! This special gallery provides extensive coverage of the day with most of the photo stops included. Photographer: Andrew Waddington
