Gallery 766: Wirral Bus & Tram Show - 7th October 2018 |
The 21st annual Wirral Bus & Tram took place on Sunday 7th October with the event once again centred on the Birkenhead Heritage Tramway. As well as the buses on both display and running free trips around the local area (plus a mock-up of the new Merseyrail EMUs due for introduction in the next few years) the tramway operated a frequent service with the rare opportunity to see four trams in service at the same time. The four "true" electric heritage trams currently in Birkenhead in service with locals Wallasey 78, Liverpool 245 and Liverpool 762 joined by Lisbon 730 - all regular performers at this event in rceent years. As well as the operating trams there were Hong Kong built pair 69 and 70 displayed at Taylor Street and Pacific Road respectively with horse cars Birkenhead 7 and Liverpool 43 also able to be viewed along with the chance to see progress on the restoration of Warrington 28. |
