Gallery 765: Edinburgh Trams Doors Open Day - 29th September 2018

For the first ever on Saturday 29th September Edinburgh Trams flung open the doors of Gogar Depot to the general public as part of the Doors Open Day event. With entrance free - although pre-booking was required - all 300 tickets for the tours were quickly snapped up with it said that double the number of tickets could have been "sold". As part of the open day small groups of visitors were shown around the various different buildings of the depot and could see 274 lifted as well as being able to inspect the roof of the tram with other trams also seen around the depot complex. There was also the chance to go for a ride on 252 through the tram wash and to sit at the controls of the tram to see just what its like to drive a tram in Edinburgh. This collection takes a look at many of the sights on offer to the lucky participants. Photographers: David Bosher, Roy Calderwood & Trevor Hall
