The Wednesday of the events to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the Manx Electric Railway was Groudle Day with nos. 1 and 2 operating on Groudle shuttles, as they did way back in 1893 when Groudle was the northern terminus of the line ahead of the opening of the remainder of the line. Groudle Station was open once again with a Station Matser on duty whilst there was a chance to buy the special MER 125 stamps. Elsewhere on the line there was a special tour with Crossbench 32 hauling Wagons 8 and 10 and Van 16 before the evening saw more Crossbench action with 14 and 16 in use. Douglas Bay Horse Tramway 1 also returned from Laxey and we take a look at its arrival on lorry and unloading whilst we also take a brief trip to the Groudle Glen Railway. A full review of this day can be read here.
