4009 to Airport heading away from the camera as it departs from East Boldon station. This station is one of the earliest in this area, opened as Cleadon Lane on 19th June 1839 and renamed East Boldon on 1st October 1898. Its services were transferred to the Metro on and from 31st March 2002 but National Rail trains from Newcastle to Sunderland and onto Hartlepool and beyond still pass through non-stop. |
