Gallery 730: Stockport 5 goes to Stockport - 5th May 2018

On Saturday 5th May Stockport 5 was one of the star exhibits at the Stockport Community Rail Festival; making its first trip to its home town for many years. In this gallery we take a look at 5 in the lead up to the event and then as it is loaded at its usual home of the Heaton Park Tramway for its trip. We then see it making its way to Stockport before we view it on display outside the railway station. It is then back to Heaton Park where as well as seeing 5 return and be unloaded we view some of the other trams in the collection including Hull 96 and Manchester 765, both of which aided in the unloading. Finally a further shunt saw Blackpool 619 moved to Middleton Road Depot. Photographers: Martin Bryan, Stuart Cooke, Martin Miller, Gareth Prior & Joe Savage
