| Gallery 719: Picture in Time Special - Blackpool & Fleetwood Tramroad Centenary 1998 |
| 20 years ago in 1998 the centenary of the Blackpool & Fleetwood Tramroad was commemorated with the main focus of the celebrations being a week long event including a Cavalcade of key trams in the history of the tramway to Fleetwood. In this Picture in Time special we take a look back at that week in July 1998 starting off with some of those trams which made up the operational fleet in Blackpool at that time followed by those visitors for the events including Rack 2, Marton 31 and Pantograph 167. We also take a look round the depot with a special Works Car event and then conclude this look with images from the Cavalcade which was led by 2 with Balloon 707 at the rear. These photos are all scanned images of the original photos and were the very first photos I took with my first SLR camera and as such there has been a fair bit of croping to get the trams as close to centre as possible (unfortunately I seemed to have a habit of chopping off pantographs and trolleys at this point!). |
