Gallery 714: Trams Around the World - The Electric City Trolley Museum, Scranton


D37 is a double ended double truck line car built at the Eighth Street Shops of the Philadelphia Rapid Transit Company in 1908. This car rides on two J.G. Brill 50E1 trucks, has four General Electric model 247D traction motors and has a General Electric K35AA2 controller at each end. This car was retired by the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority in 1988 and was moved to Buckingham Valley during 1988 and to Scranton during 1999. This car is currently stored in the restoration shop near the PNC Field.
