Gallery 698: Stagecoach Supertram Citylink Charity Tour - 17th September 2017 |
On Sunday 17th September a special charity tour of the Stagecoach Supertram network took place using one of the new Citylink tram-trains ordered both for the Rotherham Parkgate-Cathedral tram-train pilot and to increase capacity on the current Supertram network. This was originally expected to be the first chance that passengers would have to travel on one of the new trams but in the event one had entered service briefly three days previously. In aid of the Sheffield Children's Hospital Charity the chosen tram was 399 202 which had been named Theo (the mascot of the charity) on 14th September. The tour covered the entirety of the Blue and Yellow routes during the day with donations asked from those who travelled on the tram instead of standard fares. |
