The annual enthusiasts' event at the Crich Tramway Village, now just known as Tram Day, took place on Saturday 16th September. The main star of the event in 2017 was recently arrived Bournemouth 85 which was displayed on the Traverser for much of the day with various other trams posed alongside. This included rare outside appearances by Derby 1 and Hill of Howth 10 as part of a non-standard gauge line-up (also including Sheffield 330 and Glasgow 1068). In the afternoon a South Coast line-up was formed with Southampton 45 put next to 85 for more photo opportunities. Away from the depot yard and an intensive tram service was in operation using 15 trams whilst some of the Works vehicles were also out on the mainline.
