Every July the Isle of Man becomes a transport enthusiasts' delight (even more so than usual!) with the annual Manx Heritage Transport Festival which sees all of the island's railways take part in special events. The Isle of Man 50 Group also meet in the week preceeding these events for a series of special private hires and it these two events that feature in this collection of photos. As 2017 marks the 60th anniversary of the nationalisation of the Manx Electric Railway a number of trams on the MER have enjoyed a repaint with the plain nationalised green livery making a major comeback. This has included are 21, 32 and 62 on the Manx Electric Railway returning to the green whilst the Douglas Bay Horse Tramway's 45 and Snaefell Mountain Railway 4 have also received flashes of green for their new liveries. All these trams feature in this gallery and we also take a look at other members of the various tram fleets at different locations on the lines both in normal service and during special private hires and tours.
