Gallery 659: Manchester Metrolink Second City Crossing opens - February 2017

Sunday 26th February saw the final piece of Manchester Metrolink's "Big Bang" extensions open with the first passengers carried on the Second City Crossing. From this date all trams running between the East Didsbury and Oldham and Rochdale lines ran via 2CC whilst the Manchester Airport line was also extended the short distance from Cornbrook to Deansgate-Castlefield. In this collection we feature images from the lead up to the opening to the opening day itself and then end with a few more images showing services on the line during its first week.
